TouchType, developed by Michael Schneider, is one of those Apps that should already be a standard part of the iPhone but it isn’t. TouchType is an App that allows you to compose e-mails in Landscape mode as opposed to being restricted to Portrait mode only, thus allowing you to type e-mails faster and more accurately with the larger full-size keyboard.
The App which costs £0.59 ($0.99 USD), when launched, displays a blank page with the larger Landscape keyboard when the iPhone is held horizontally. You may then compose your e-mail and once you have finished typing, the send button in the top right needs to be clicked which then loads the Apple Mail Software with the text inputted into the e-mail already. The mail may then be sent like a normal e-mail.
It is also possible to also utilise TouchType when replying to e-mails. This is done by pressing the Reply button then using the Home button of the iPhone to load up the TouchType software within which you are able to input your e-mail text. Pressing the send button in the top right again returns you to the mail software within which the inputted text is displayed.
Overall this is a very useful and time saving App but many would argue that this feature should be standard with the iPhone already, which I am sure it will be in a not so distant future software update. A similar feature would be ideal for the Notes software and within the SMS Text Messaging software so take note Apple (And Michael Schneider for future software updates).
